EgyptAir Urges Accuracy After Incomplete Information Circulates on Flight Rescheduling Case
EgyptAir has issued a statement today addressing the circulation of incomplete information regarding a court ruling related to the cancellation of a flight from Istanbul to Cairo. The airline emphasized that the reports did not capture all details of the legal dispute and the rulings associated with it.
The airline clarified that the mentioned ruling failed to acknowledge a favorable decision for EgyptAir in a related counterclaim, which confirmed the company’s adherence to all international procedures and regulations governing flight schedule changes.
Additionally, EgyptAir stated that it had sent the necessary notifications regarding the flight rescheduling to the travel agency that issued the tickets for the passengers. However, the travel agency did not fulfill its obligation to inform the passengers about the change in flight timing.
The national carrier reiterated its commitment to safeguarding customer rights and its continuous efforts to ensure operational regularity, taking all necessary measures to inform passengers of any modifications that may occur in flight schedules for any reason.
In this context, EgyptAir urged various news outlets and social media platforms to exercise accuracy and objectivity when reporting news related to the airline. It called for referencing official sources and competent authorities before publication, in order to avoid disseminating incomplete or inaccurate information that could lead to confusion and damage the reputation of Egypt’s national carrier.
The airline reaffirmed its dedication to fulfilling its national role and providing services according to the highest standards of quality and professionalism, ensuring it maintains customer trust both domestically and internationally.
