EgyptAir Expands Global Reach with New Flights to Zanzibar and Birmingham
Direct flights to Zanzibar and Birmingham.
EgyptAir has announced the addition of two new destinations to its regular flight network: Zanzibar in Tanzania and Birmingham in the United Kingdom. This expansion aims to support tourism and travel while connecting Egypt with more vital global destinations, thereby enhancing the integration of the airline’s international route network.
This initiative aligns with EgyptAir’s strategy to broaden its flight operations and strengthen its presence in both African and European markets.
Starting September 4, 2026, EgyptAir will commence direct flights between Cairo and Zanzibar, a premier tourist destination in Africa, offering two weekly flights on Fridays and Sundays. These flights will utilize Boeing 737-800 aircraft, catering to travelers from Europe and North America seeking leisure activities in Zanzibar.

In addition, EgyptAir is expanding its European network with direct flights from Cairo to Birmingham, one of England’s key cities and the second-largest city in the UK. These flights will operate four times a week starting October 27, 2026, coinciding with the winter schedule implementation.
The Birmingham routes will be serviced by the latest Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Birmingham becomes EgyptAir’s third destination in the UK, joining London where it operates 21 weekly flights, as well as Manchester with ten weekly flights during the current summer season.
The introduction of these new routes reflects EgyptAir’s commitment to executing its expansion plans at both regional and international levels by enhancing air connectivity between Egypt and promising tourism and trade markets in Africa and Europe. This also provides customers with more travel options for a more comfortable and luxurious flying experience.
