Tottenham Hotspur Eye Santiago Gimenez as Transfer Target
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a move for AC Milan forward Santiago Gimenez as part of their squad overhaul under newly appointed manager Roberto De Zerbi.
De Zerbi is currently reshaping the first-team roster, with Andrew Robertson and Marcos Senesi set to join Spurs on free transfers from Liverpool and Bournemouth, respectively.
In addition to these signings, a Liverpool forward has also emerged as a potential target for De Zerbi as he seeks to bolster his attacking options.
According to Calciomercato, Spurs have been presented with the opportunity to acquire Gimenez, who has struggled since his high-profile transfer from Feyenoord to AC Milan.

Gimenez’s Struggles at AC Milan
Despite being included in Mexico’s World Cup squad, Gimenez’s transition to AC Milan has not gone as planned. Since joining the club in February 2025, he has managed only seven goals and six assists in 37 appearances, with no goals scored in Serie A last season.
With AC Milan failing to qualify for the Champions League, reports suggest that Gimenez’s representatives have offered him to Tottenham this summer. However, the player reportedly wishes to prove himself at San Siro.
Lazio is also mentioned as a possible destination for the 25-year-old striker, who still has three years left on his contract with AC Milan.

The Need for Gimenez at Spurs
Tottenham has frequently engaged in transfer dealings with Serie A clubs over the years, achieving varying degrees of success. Acquiring Gimenez directly from Feyenoord in early 2025 would have been seen as a significant achievement due to his impressive tally of 65 goals in 105 appearances for the Dutch side.
However, given his current form and the presence of Dominic Solanke and Richarlison—if he remains at Spurs—Gimenez would likely find himself lower in the pecking order should he join Tottenham. It may be more beneficial for him to leave AC Milan only for a club where he can secure regular playing time.
