Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, along with Major General Emad Al-Kadwani, Governor of Minya, and several health officials, conducted an inspection of healthcare facilities as part of the pilot launch of the Comprehensive Health Insurance System in the governorate.

The visit took place on Saturday, during which the minister reviewed the readiness of medical facilities to provide integrated services to citizens. He received a detailed briefing about the Atleydem Family Health Center, which operates under a family health model and has registered 3,700 medical files.

Dr. Abdel Ghaffar emphasized the importance of registering these files within the comprehensive health insurance system, highlighting that this model aligns with global recommendations from the World Health Organization for delivering primary healthcare focused on family units.

The minister also inspected various departments within the center, including emergency services, radiology, pharmacy, dental clinic, and initiatives room, ensuring that modern equipment was available and that medical teams were adequately trained.

Additionally, he visited Malawi Specialized Hospital and received a comprehensive overview of its services, which include 21 outpatient clinics, 61 operating rooms, 96 emergency beds, 19 dialysis units, six incubators, 39 intensive care beds, and 58 inpatient beds.

The minister praised the performance of the cardiology catheterization department following a successful first transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) procedure without chest opening. He instructed the formation of specialized teams for cardiac surgeries and catheterizations.

He also reviewed updates on stroke management protocols that have been activated in seven hospitals across six governorates. An initial database has been established documenting 300 stroke cases while reducing injection times to just 33 minutes. The authority has also received accreditation from the World Stroke Organization.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that this inspection aims to ensure all facilities are prepared to deliver high-quality services under the comprehensive health insurance system.
