Cairo Governor Attends International Drums Festival Celebrating Heritage Arts

Dr. Ibrahim Saber, the Governor of Cairo, attended the International Drums Festival and Heritage Arts, held at Bahler Passage in downtown Cairo. The event attracted a large audience, showcasing a vibrant interaction with the artistic and cultural performances presented by participating groups.
The governor emphasized that hosting such cultural and artistic events in the heart of the capital contributes to revitalizing heritage areas and enhancing Cairo’s status as a capital of culture and arts. He noted the city’s commitment to supporting activities that highlight cultural diversity and reflect Egypt’s authentic identity.
The festival featured performances from ten artistic and heritage groups from Egypt, along with participants from countries including Sudan, South Sudan, Palestine, and India. The diverse musical and artistic presentations captivated attendees, transforming Bahler Passage into a lively celebration of heritage arts.
Dr. Saber reiterated that the governorate continues to collaborate with various stakeholders to support cultural and artistic events that stimulate tourism and provide a cultural outlet for citizens and visitors alike. This reflects the civilized face of the capital while enhancing Cairo’s historical and cultural significance.
The International Drums Festival is held under the slogan “Dialogue of Drums for Peace,” featuring both Egyptian and international artistic groups aimed at fostering communication among peoples through traditional arts and folk music. Artist Intisar Abdel Fattah, founder and president of the International Drums Festival, expressed gratitude to the Governor of Cairo for his support of the event.
