Atletico Madrid Mocks Real Madrid’s Statement on Julian Alvarez
Atletico Madrid has humorously responded to a statement from their rivals Real Madrid regarding interest in Argentine striker Julian Alvarez, through a post on their official social media accounts.
The Atletico statement included several sarcastic remarks about Real Madrid’s claims, suggesting that the club had edited a video of the Pope to omit his support for Atletico Madrid.
Atletico stated, “It seems you confused appreciation with gratitude, but to clarify, we do not thank you for anything.”.
The club also denied any intention to consider or discuss an offer for Julian Alvarez, asserting that the player is not available for sale at this time.
Continuing their playful tone, Atletico added, “How can our relationship be good when you make us laugh more than Barcelona does?”.
The statement concluded with a message directed at Real Madrid’s management: “Exploiting your good relationship with your new president, we hope you will stop poaching players from our academy. Thank you very much, Real Madrid.”.
