Written byFerdous Saeed

Reports have emerged indicating that Real Madrid is keen on signing Nigerian star Victor Osimhen during the ongoing summer transfer window. This move aligns with the club’s strategy to strengthen its squad with players capable of making a significant impact in the upcoming seasons, as per the request of Portuguese manager José Mourinho.

According to sports commentator Artem Shiner, Mourinho believes that Osimhen would be a valuable addition to the new project at the Santiago Bernabéu and has identified him as one of the top candidates for recruitment in the near future.

This interest comes on the heels of a standout season for Osimhen at Galatasaray, where he played a pivotal role in helping his team secure the Turkish league title, contributing significantly with 15 goals and providing five assists.

Osimhen’s impressive performance last season has attracted attention from several top European clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain, amid anticipated competition for his services.

Shiner noted that Osimhen’s future at Galatasaray is uncertain, emphasizing that he has received information suggesting Mourinho’s desire to see Osimhen donning the Real Madrid jersey soon.

Additionally, it was highlighted that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez had previously mentioned reaching an agreement with a player valued at €150 million—an amount reportedly sought by Galatasaray for Osimhen’s transfer.

Shiner concluded by questioning how Galatasaray fans would react if Real Madrid were to make an official offer of €150 million, suggesting that such a bid could pave the way for one of the summer transfer window’s most notable signings.
