Egypt Emerges as Regional Gas Hub Thanks to Infrastructure Development
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister of Egypt, stated that the country has established itself as a regional gas hub in the area, supported by robust liquefaction infrastructure. He emphasized that President Sisi’s directives to transform Egypt into a gas center are becoming a reality, with tangible results evident on the ground.
During a press conference today, the Prime Minister shared insights from his recent visit to the historic King Farouk Palace. He noted that the palace was previously used as a veterinary college at Alexandria University and had been abandoned for over two years. Madbouly expressed his commitment to exploring optimal uses for the palace, which is currently undergoing restoration for future utilization.
He further mentioned that Rashid is the second city after Cairo in terms of Islamic antiquities, boasting a significant number of historical sites. The government is actively working on restoring these buildings and developing Rashid Museum into a tourist area. Efforts are underway to preserve and utilize historical structures in the coming period. Additionally, he inspected Rashid Hospital, one of the oldest hospitals in the region, which has been renovated to provide comprehensive medical services for Rashid and neighboring cities.
