Iran’s Foreign Minister Expresses Appreciation for Egypt’s Diplomatic Efforts

Badr Abdel Aty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received a phone call from Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the conversation, Araghchi expressed his appreciation for Egypt and its leadership for their diligent efforts over recent months. He highlighted high-level communications aimed at bridging gaps during negotiations and overcoming challenges, encouraging both parties to reach an agreement to end hostilities. He emphasized Iran’s reliance on Egypt to continue playing a constructive role in supporting the agreement and ensuring its sustainability while working towards a final settlement between the parties involved.
The call addressed elements of the agreement that aims to conclude the conflict between the United States and Iran, as well as ending hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon, to ensure respect for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In response, Minister Abdel Aty welcomed the agreement between the United States and Iran, expressing hope that it would lead to a genuine transformation in restoring security and stability in the region.
He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to continue its diplomatic efforts to achieve security and stability in the area. The Foreign Minister also stressed Egypt’s full support for Lebanon during these challenging times, emphasizing the importance of Israel’s withdrawal from all Lebanese territories and strengthening state institutions while asserting sovereignty and controlling arms.
