Written byNoha El Shafie

Arab-Islamic Statement.

The foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar have strongly condemned the ongoing violence by settlers against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. This includes recent attacks on the Grand Mosque in the village of Jaljulia and Al-Faruq Mosque in the village of Mazra’a al-Nubani, north of Ramallah.

The ministers stated that these assaults represent a clear violation of the sanctity of places of worship and religious sites, as well as international law, including humanitarian law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

They reiterated their absolute rejection of these condemned acts perpetrated by Israeli settlers and denounced the continuation of unilateral and illegal Israeli actions in the occupied Palestinian territories. Such actions fuel instability, violence, and extremism while undermining international efforts aimed at achieving peace. The ministers hold Israel, as the occupying power, responsible for these attacks.

The ministers called on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by compelling Israel to halt its dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank. They urged an end to illegal practices, cessation of settler violence, accountability for perpetrators of these crimes, and ensuring that they do not evade justice.

They reaffirmed their steadfast solidarity with the Palestinian people and their unwavering support for fulfilling their legitimate and inalienable national rights. This includes their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent sovereign Palestinian state along the lines of 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The ministers also reiterated their support for all efforts aimed at ending Israeli occupation and achieving a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace based on a two-state solution according to international law and relevant UN resolutions as well as the Arab Peace Initiative.
