Egypt Condemns Israeli Attack on Lebanese Army Patrol

Written byNoha El Shafie

The Arab Republic of Egypt has strongly condemned the recent Israeli attack on a Lebanese Army patrol, which resulted in the deaths of two officers and one soldier. This act is seen as a serious escalation and a blatant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, as well as a clear breach of international law and humanitarian law.

Egypt emphasized the necessity for the international community to take responsibility in halting the repeated Israeli assaults on Lebanese territory, urging Israel to respect Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The statement warned that continued escalation could lead to further tension, chaos, and instability in the region.

Additionally, Egypt underscored the importance of supporting intensive regional and international diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and preventing the widening of conflict, which would contribute to enhancing regional security and stability.

Egypt firmly rejects any infringement on Lebanese national territory and reiterates its full support for the unity of the Lebanese state, its national institutions, and the integrity of its land. It also calls for an immediate and complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from all Lebanese territories, along with the full and non-selective implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, to achieve security and stability while preserving Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial unity.
