Egypt Condemns Opening of Somaliland Embassy in Occupied Jerusalem
The Arab Republic of Egypt has strongly condemned the opening of a purported embassy by the self-declared Somaliland region in occupied Jerusalem, describing it as a blatant violation of international law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions. This act directly undermines the legal and historical status of the city of Jerusalem.
Egypt reiterated its complete rejection of any unilateral actions aimed at establishing an illegal reality in occupied Jerusalem or granting legitimacy to any entities or arrangements that contravene international law and United Nations resolutions. The country emphasized that East Jerusalem has been occupied Palestinian territory since 1967, and any attempts to alter its legal and historical status are deemed null and void, with no legal consequences.
Furthermore, Egypt affirmed its full support for the unity and sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Somalia and its territorial integrity, expressing complete opposition to any unilateral actions that threaten Somalia’s territorial unity or undermine its sovereignty.
