Pope Tawadros II Welcomes Armenian Theological Institute Delegation in Cairo

Pope Tawadros II received a delegation from the Armenian Theological Institute and the “St. Jacob” Clerical School at the papal headquarters in Cairo on Sunday. The delegation, led by Dean Archimandrite Kevork Hairapetian, included members of the administration, faculty, and students, along with Bishop Ashod Manatsakanyan, the Armenian Orthodox Bishop in Egypt and Africa.
This visit is part of their tour to several ancient Coptic monasteries in Egypt.
The delegation conveyed greetings and affection from His Beatitude Patriarch Bishop Norhan Manoukian, the Armenian Orthodox Patriarch in Jerusalem.
Pope Tawadros spoke about Egypt’s unique historical and geographical significance as well as the rich history of the Coptic Orthodox Church. He highlighted the legacy of Saint Mark the Apostle, who founded the See of Alexandria, and discussed the impact of Coptic monasticism on monastic traditions worldwide.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Pope Tawadros expressed his love and appreciation for His Beatitude Patriarch Norhan Manoukian and presented them with commemorative gifts.
