Sasa Kalajdzic Open to Future at Wolves After World Cup Appearance
Austrian forward Sasa Kalajdzic has expressed his interest in continuing his career at Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 28-year-old, who has battled serious knee injuries, made a notable appearance for Austria during the World Cup.
In a recent match, Kalajdzic played the first half as Austria secured a 3-1 victory over Jordan.
Once the tournament concludes, attention will shift to Kalajdzic’s future, with speculation surrounding whether he will stay at Molineux or seek opportunities in Germany or Austria, where he has previously played.
Kalajdzic enjoyed a successful loan spell at LASK Linz prior to the World Cup, where he contributed seven goals and 11 assists in 27 appearances while helping the team secure a league and cup double.

Kalajdzic Discusses His Future with Wolves
In an interview with the club’s official website, Kalajdzic indicated he is open to making one final effort at Wolves. He stated: “I am looking forward to the conversations I am going to have. If I am there, I will give it my all. Maybe it is unfinished business. At the end of the day we will see what happens in the summer and what is best for both parties.”.
Since joining Wolves at the start of the 2022-23 season, Kalajdzic has struggled with injuries, managing only 350 minutes of play across 16 matches. Despite this, he has made an impact with three goals and one assist, earning him a cult hero status among fans.

The Best Move for Kalajdzic
While many supporters hope for Kalajdzic’s success at Wolves, his history of injuries and stronger ties to clubs in Germany or Austria suggest that a transfer may be beneficial for all parties involved. LASK Linz is reportedly eager to welcome him back, and there are indications that Schalke 04 might be interested in bringing him back to Germany.
If he emerges from the World Cup uninjured, Kalajdzic could find more appealing options than participating in a lengthy Championship season. With just one year left on his contract, this summer presents Wolves’ final opportunity to secure a significant fee for a player they signed for £15.4 million in 2022.
