Port Said University Signs International Cooperation Agreement with University of Patras
Dr. Sherif Youssef Saleh, President of Port Said University, has signed an international cooperation agreement with the University of Patras, one of Greece’s largest and oldest public universities. This partnership reflects the growing international standing of Port Said University in the global academic and research arenas, with the presence of Nikolaos Garileidis, the Greek Ambassador to Egypt.
The agreement is part of Port Said University’s strategy to enhance its international presence and engage with leading educational and research institutions worldwide. This initiative aims to support efforts in developing higher education and scientific research while fostering opportunities for joint cooperation and the exchange of scientific knowledge.
The partnership seeks to explore and strengthen areas of collaboration in development, scientific research, and training through joint research programs, the exchange of publications and scientific reports, and facilitating the mobility of faculty members and students in accordance with both institutions’ regulations. Additionally, it aims to develop joint academic programs that allow students to study at both universities, promoting mutual benefits and enhancing scientific and cultural exchanges between the two sides.
The University of Patras is the third largest public university in Greece, established in 1964 in Patras. It boasts a distinguished academic reputation and high global rankings, leading in various scientific disciplines.
This agreement culminates a fruitful collaboration between Port Said University and the Greek Embassy in Cairo. The university previously hosted the Greek ambassador during an official visit that paved the way for this important academic partnership. Dr. Saleh also participated in Greece’s National Day celebration held at the Greek embassy in Cairo, reflecting the deepening Egyptian-Greek relations across various fields.
Following the signing ceremony, Dr. Sherif Youssef Saleh expressed his appreciation for the Greek Embassy’s role in supporting academic cooperation between the two countries. He noted that Egyptian-Greek relations are rapidly developing, representing a successful model for strategic partnerships based on mutual interests and a rich historical connection between both peoples.
