Minister of Military Production Highlights Unprecedented Focus on Upper Egypt’s Development

Dr. Salah Suleiman Jumblatt, the Minister of Military Production, recently inspected ongoing water station projects in Assiut Governorate, accompanied by Assiut Governor Mohamed Alwan and several officials from the ministry, the National Authority for Military Production, and other relevant agencies.

This visit is part of a continuous field monitoring effort for projects executed by entities under the Ministry of Military Production as part of the presidential initiative “Decent Life.”.

During the tour, Jumblatt reviewed the implementation status of the Al-Maabda Water Station and the Menfalout Water Treatment Plant, along with updates on various lifting station projects including Masara, Kom Bohah, Qasr Haidar, and Nazlet Tahir. He examined execution rates and plans for completing work at different sites.

The Minister emphasized that his visit to Assiut is part of a series of field tours in Upper Egypt aimed at overseeing projects carried out by companies affiliated with the ministry under the “Decent Life” initiative. He noted that these tours provide an up-to-date and realistic overview of project statuses on the ground, which aids in timely decision-making and enhances execution efficiency while maximizing state investments in these projects.

Jumblatt added that these ongoing field visits are not solely focused on tracking completion rates; they also serve as opportunities to strengthen coordination among all parties involved in the projects, including owners, executors, and consultants. He highlighted Dar Al-Handasah’s role as the supervising consultant to unify visions and operational mechanisms, positively impacting performance rates and quality while addressing challenges promptly.

The minister pointed out that several projects in Assiut are ready for handover and emphasized the need to remove any obstacles that may delay their acceptance and operation. He stressed that strict measures will be taken against any negligence or practices causing delays in project delivery, preventing citizens from benefiting from them as soon as possible. He reiterated that Egyptian citizens are a top priority for the state.

He added that Upper Egypt has experienced unprecedented developmental leaps in recent years under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives. Jumblatt assured that the state continues to implement developmental projects aimed at improving quality of life and providing better services for citizens.

The Minister of Military Production highlighted the importance of maintaining teamwork spirit and continuous coordination among concerned entities while fully adhering to quality and safety standards and targeted execution rates to ensure swift project completion and achieve desired objectives.

Assiut Governor Mohamed Alwan noted that the presidential initiative “Decent Life” has significantly transformed development in rural areas within the governorate, enhancing infrastructure and elevating service levels provided to citizens. He expressed his commitment to collaborating with the Ministry of Military Production and all relevant entities to improve performance rates, accelerate project work across various initiatives, address technical observations promptly, and overcome any challenges faced during execution.

Engineer Magdy Ahmed Mahmoud, Director of Assiut Sector at Dar Al-Handasah, explained that field monitoring activities are conducted periodically in coordination with various executive bodies to ensure adherence to timelines and required quality standards. This cooperation contributes to hastening project completion and ensuring they enter service as scheduled.
