Dr. Salah Suleiman Jumblatt, the Minister of Military Production, held a comprehensive meeting with officials from contracting companies responsible for implementing projects under the presidential initiative “Decent Life” in various villages across Asyut Governorate.

This meeting took place on the second day of his visit to Asyut to review the latest developments regarding projects executed by military production companies as part of this initiative.

During the meeting, Jumblatt emphasized the need to expedite work on ongoing projects under the presidential initiative, highlighting that all participating entities bear a national responsibility towards citizens eagerly awaiting these projects to become operational as soon as possible.

He noted that the government has provided various forms of support necessary for the success of the “Decent Life” initiative, and that financial dues to executing companies are being disbursed according to established procedures. This necessitates increased efforts and heightened execution rates during this current phase.

The minister further stated that the government is committed to removing any obstacles hindering project execution. He referenced his recent field visit to Minya Governorate, where he made direct calls to several ministers and officials to resolve issues affecting project progress and accelerate completion rates.

Jumblatt assured that the Ministry of Military Production will continue to support diligent contracting companies facing challenges beyond their control while providing full assistance to compliant entities keen on achieving results. Conversely, he warned that necessary actions would be taken against cases of delays caused by negligence or non-compliance, including reallocating contracts to other capable entities to ensure swift project completion and protect citizens’ rights as well as state investments.

He praised the collaborative efforts with Dar Al-Handasa, Holding Company for Water and Wastewater, and other relevant bodies working cohesively towards achieving targeted projects. Jumblatt committed to personally overseeing regular field monitoring until project completion and operational readiness.

Additionally, he mentioned plans to enhance remote monitoring systems for projects through electronic tracking mechanisms such as surveillance cameras, allowing real-time updates on execution rates and prompt responses to any challenges encountered at various work sites.

The minister encouraged innovative solutions for overcoming any obstacles, indicating that feedback could be communicated via WhatsApp through a designated number at the Ministry of Military Production for suggestions and complaints aimed at resolving execution challenges swiftly.

In his remarks to contracting company officials, Jumblatt stated: “We do not monitor these projects solely due to their fixed timelines; rather, it is because Egypt has invested significantly in these initiatives aimed at improving citizens’ living standards. Our people deserve tangible developmental returns from these projects, especially since water supply and sanitation services are fundamental needs directly impacting daily life. Therefore, any delay preventing citizens from benefiting from these projects is unacceptable.” He underscored that every Egyptian deserves a dignified life and full access to developmental benefits provided by the state across various governorates.

Engineer Magdy Ahmed Mahmoud, Regional Director at Dar Al-Handasa in Upper Egypt, explained that field follow-ups are conducted regularly in coordination with different executing agencies to ensure adherence to specified timelines and quality standards. This collaboration contributes significantly towards timely project completion in line with objectives set forth.

Following the meeting, Jumblatt and his entourage visited the headquarters of Asyut Water Supply and Sanitation Company for a presentation on ongoing project statuses under the “Decent Life” initiative. During this visit, it was noted that 90% of water supply network works have been completed in 149 villages along with several water stations delivered.

Asyut Governor Mohamed Alwan confirmed that ongoing projects represent an important addition to service systems in the governorate and contribute significantly towards enhancing life quality for residents in targeted villages under the presidential initiative.

Officials from Asyut Water Supply and Sanitation Company praised their collaboration with military production firms, appreciating their role in executing presidential initiative projects within the governorate. They expressed readiness to provide workforce teams aimed at accelerating work pace.
