Liverpool’s summer overhaul under manager Andoni Iraola is picking up speed as the club targets key reinforcements in several positions.

Midfield remains a top priority for the Reds as they prepare for a new chapter at Anfield, prompting significant behind-the-scenes discussions about current players and potential signings.

However, the future of Dominik Szoboszlai is not in question.

Liverpool has firmly stated that Szoboszlai is not for sale this summer, despite interest from several top European clubs, according to TEAMtalk.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain have all expressed admiration for the Hungarian international. However, Liverpool considers him a vital part of their long-term vision.

Negotiations for a new contract are already underway, with the club optimistic about reaching an agreement before the start of the new Premier League season.

Since joining from RB Leipzig, Szoboszlai has emerged as one of Liverpool’s most influential players, contributing creativity, energy, and leadership to the midfield.

With speculation surrounding other squad members, including Alexis Mac Allister and potential departures like Curtis Jones, the 25-year-old is viewed as an indispensable element of Iraola’s plans.

While Liverpool has no intention of losing Szoboszlai, they are actively seeking to bolster their squad around him.

Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton has emerged as a primary target, with reports indicating that Liverpool is intensifying efforts to secure a deal.

The England international has quickly gained recognition since his departure from Blackburn and is now regarded as one of the Premier League’s most promising young talents. His composure on the ball, passing ability, and intelligence align well with the high-intensity style that Iraola aims to implement.

Liverpool envisions Wharton as an ideal addition alongside Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch, creating a youthful midfield core for the future.

Crystal Palace is expected to demand at least £70 million for Wharton; however, Fenway Sports Group (FSG) is reportedly ‘prepared’ to support this move. Considering Wharton’s age, homegrown status, and proven quality in the Premier League, his valuation reflects his worth.

If Liverpool retains Szoboszlai and successfully adds Wharton to their lineup, it would signal a strong commitment to building an exciting midfield foundation in the league.
