Liverpool Eyes Juventus Midfielder Khephren Thuram for Summer Transfer
Liverpool has reportedly set its sights on Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram as a potential summer signing. The latest reports indicate that the Frenchman has emerged as a key target for the club.
Andoni Iraola, Liverpool’s new manager, has already strengthened his squad with the recent acquisition of winger Victor Munoz, who joined from Osasuna earlier this week. However, further reinforcements are needed in midfield to enhance the team’s competitiveness.
Last season, midfielders Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch struggled significantly throughout the 2025-26 Premier League campaign. Relying on them as starters next season could jeopardize Liverpool’s aspirations for silverware.
According to Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport, Khephren Thuram is once again on Liverpool’s radar. The talented midfielder was previously linked with a move to Anfield under Jurgen Klopp in 2023 before eventually transferring to Juventus for €20 million (£17.3 million) in 2024.

Khephren Thuram: A Strategic Fit for Iraola?
Thuram is a versatile midfielder capable of operating in deeper roles while also contributing offensively. At 25 years old and standing at 6 feet 4 inches tall, he possesses a physical presence that could complement Iraola’s preferred double pivot formation.
His ability to win back possession aligns well with Liverpool’s high-pressing style, although his passing skills have been questioned since the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold, which may pose challenges in advancing play.

Future of Alexis Mac Allister: Is He at Greater Risk than Ryan Gravenberch?
Among Liverpool’s midfielders, Alexis Mac Allister faces the highest risk of reduced playing time after struggling physically throughout last season. In contrast, Ryan Gravenberch had a challenging year as well but recently signed a contract extension keeping him at Anfield until 2032, indicating the club’s commitment to his development as a regular starter.
At just 24 years old, Gravenberch is younger than Mac Allister by three years and possesses superior physical attributes, despite occasionally lacking defensive diligence. If another midfielder like Thuram joins the squad, Gravenberch’s position could be threatened; however, his prospects at Liverpool currently appear more promising than those of Mac Allister.
