As the summer transfer window approaches, Manchester United is gearing up for significant activity aimed at assembling a squad capable of challenging Arsenal and Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.

The future of midfielder Bruno Fernandes is currently a hot topic, with Manchester United among several clubs reportedly interested in the Portugal international.

It seems unlikely that Fernandes will remain with West Ham this summer, as clubs like Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Arsenal are also said to be keen on him.

Last season, Fernandes had an impressive campaign, scoring five goals and providing five assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.

West Ham values the 21-year-old at £80 million and has him contracted until June 2030, which alleviates immediate pressure to sell.

Of the players discussed here, Fernandes appears to be the most likely candidate to join the 20-time English champions, who are expected to secure three new midfielders this summer.

Manchester United is actively seeking a left-sided attacker this summer, and it is believed that Crysencio Summerville ranks high on their wishlist.

The 24-year-old scored seven goals and provided five assists in 34 appearances for West Ham last season but could not prevent their relegation.

Summerville gained attention after scoring for the Netherlands in their 2-2 draw against Japan during the 2026 World Cup, which has fueled speculation about a potential move away from West Ham.

Overall, he has netted eight goals and delivered seven assists in 56 appearances for West Ham, following an impressive stint at Leeds United where he scored 25 goals and provided 13 assists in 89 matches.

With Manchester United’s interest in acquiring a left-sided forward, they could target Summerville, who might be available for around £45 million this summer.

An additional player drawing attention is Pape Abou Diouf, who is also participating in the ongoing 2026 World Cup. The defender started Senegal’s tournament opener against France.

Diouf joined West Ham from Slavia Prague last summer and made a total of 34 appearances during the 2025-26 season while contributing five assists.

Manchester United is keen on bolstering their left-back position this summer and there is reported interest in Diouf from the club.

Initially viewed as more of an attacking left-back upon his transfer to West Ham, Diouf showcased his defensive skills as the season progressed. The Senegal international has exhibited considerable potential early in his Premier League career and could remain in England’s top flight for the upcoming season.
