Transfer Updates: Mateta’s Future, Summerville’s Interest, and Ndiaye’s Marseille Remarks
Crystal Palace is reportedly preparing to entertain offers for striker Jean-Philippe Mateta this summer as part of efforts to generate funds through his potential departure. Currently representing France at the 2026 World Cup, Mateta is expected to leave Selhurst Park during the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old had initially agreed to a £35 million move to AC Milan in January; however, the transfer fell through when medical examinations revealed a knee issue. Fortunately, Mateta did not require surgery and made a significant impact upon his return, scoring the winning goal in Palace’s 1-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano in the Conference League final last May.
According to Football Insider, Palace is now open to offers for Mateta and hopes to secure a ‘decent fee’ for his transfer. While a move to Italy remains his preference, Premier League clubs Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest are also monitoring his situation.
Palace aims to utilize the proceeds from Mateta’s sale to bolster their squad under new management by Pierre Sage ahead of their Europa League campaign for the 2026-27 season.

Summerville ‘Ready to Move’ Amid Roma Interest
In related news, while Crystal Palace secured a mid-table finish in the Premier League last season, West Ham United faced relegation and are expected to see several first-team players depart, including Crysencio Summerville.
The Hammers are under pressure to sell players following their drop into the Championship, and Summerville has reportedly attracted interest from Serie A clubs such as Napoli and AC Milan. Corriere dello Sport, via Sport Witness, indicates that Roma is keen on acquiring the £35 million-rated forward this summer.
Roma has allegedly initiated discussions with West Ham regarding a potential deal, with forward Donyell Malen expressing interest in joining his Dutch teammate Summerville in Italy.
Currently participating in the World Cup with the Netherlands, Summerville made headlines by scoring during their opening match against Japan, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Additionally, reports from France suggest that Paris Saint-Germain has reached out to West Ham for information about Summerville’s availability.

Ndiaye Open to Future Move Back to Marseille
Meanwhile, Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye has expressed openness towards potentially returning to Ligue 1 club Marseille in the future. The 26-year-old forward spent just one season at Marseille, where he scored four goals in 46 appearances before moving to Everton in July 2024.
Ndiaye has since become an integral player for Everton under manager David Moyes, contributing six goals and three assists across 32 Premier League matches last season. Currently representing Senegal at the World Cup, he has been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City this summer, with United being long-time admirers.
In an interview with Foot Mercato, Ndiaye reflected on his time at Marseille and acknowledged that he faced challenges during his brief tenure there. He stated that while he struggled initially, he believes his experiences have shaped him positively moving forward.
“At a club like [Marseille], you have to perform very quickly,” Ndiaye explained. “I struggled; I won’t deny it… I lacked a bit of experience at the highest level.”.
“I would have liked a second season at Marseille to show my progress,” he added. “It’s certain that if I’d arrived two years later… I’m sure the story would have turned out very differently at OM.”.
Ndiaye concluded by saying, “Perhaps that season in Marseille even helped me in the long run. And I’m certain the story isn’t over at all with Marseille.”.
Ndiaye currently has three years remaining on his contract with Everton and is valued at €55 million (£47.5 million) by transfermarkt, although Everton would likely demand a higher fee for him.
