Casemiro Set to Join Inter Miami After Departure from Manchester United
Inter Miami has reportedly secured an agreement to sign midfielder Casemiro on a free transfer following his exit from Manchester United. The Brazilian international has been on the lookout for a new club since it was confirmed that he would leave Man United when his contract expires at the end of the 2025-26 season.
Initially, Casemiro was linked with a potential reunion with former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr. However, he expressed a strong desire to play alongside Lionel Messi, his long-time rival in El Clasico, at Inter Miami.

Agreement Reached for Inter Miami Transfer
Reports earlier this month indicated that Inter Miami needed to address an issue concerning the MLS discovery rights held by Los Angeles. Nonetheless, this obstacle is not expected to hinder Casemiro’s transfer, as journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that a verbal agreement is now in place between the player and the club.
This development underscores Casemiro’s eagerness to team up with Messi, and it is anticipated that he will be officially announced as an Inter Miami player soon.
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old is focused on contributing to Brazil’s campaign in the 2026 World Cup, where he has started both of Brazil’s opening matches, including a notable 3-0 victory over Haiti.

Expected Timeline for Casemiro’s Debut
Once Brazil concludes its participation in the World Cup, Casemiro will shift his focus to his new role at Inter Miami. The team is scheduled to resume their MLS season with a home match against Chicago Fire on July 22, shortly after the World Cup final.
Even if Brazil does not reach the final, it is unlikely that Casemiro will debut immediately after the tournament due to recovery time needed post-World Cup. Following their match against Chicago Fire, Inter Miami will face CF Montreal on July 26 and Columbus Crew on August 2 before competing in the 2026 Leagues Cup. His debut date will ultimately hinge on Brazil’s progress in the World Cup and his subsequent rest period.
