The General Authority for Health Care, led by Dr. Ahmed El-Sabki, has announced the launch of comprehensive medical screenings and a series of advanced training programs for healthcare personnel in Minya. This initiative marks the first phase of the second stage in implementing the Comprehensive Health Insurance System, in collaboration with the Russian company Polymed Prof and Japan’s JICA project.
This initiative is part of the authority’s strategy to enhance the capabilities of health personnel, transfer international expertise, and apply the latest global practices in training, quality, and continuous improvement.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sabki stated that from Minya, the authority has introduced the “Ensure… Your Health is Our Responsibility” initiative, which is the first digital initiative for comprehensive medical screening utilizing cutting-edge technology for early detection of widespread diseases. This effort is in partnership with Polymed Prof and aims to support quality programs and continuous improvement through cooperation with JICA, focusing on developing human capacities and monitoring project implementation within the Comprehensive Health Insurance System.
El-Sabki emphasized that this initiative aims to establish a complete model for early screening within the health insurance system according to high-quality standards. It also promotes a shift towards proactive healthcare based on prevention, early detection, data analysis, and the application of best global practices.
The “Ensure… Your Health is Our Responsibility” initiative seeks to transfer advanced Russian medical screening experiences into the comprehensive health insurance framework by leveraging modern digital technologies and mobile smart devices for community health surveys. This approach aims to enhance accessibility for citizens and conduct preliminary examinations more swiftly and accurately.
Minya has been chosen as the starting point for this initiative as it is the first governorate in this second phase of implementing the Comprehensive Health Insurance System. Following Minya, a similar model will be applied in Suez, with plans to gradually expand throughout other governorates to ensure widespread adoption of digital comprehensive screenings and utilize their outcomes to support health decision-making.
The results from these medical screenings will contribute to creating an accurate health map indicating disease prevalence patterns, identifying health priorities, and directing services and resources based on actual community needs. This will enhance planning efficiency within the system.
Dr. El-Sabki noted that advanced training programs are being implemented for medical staff under the guidance of experts from Polymed Prof to transfer knowledge on medical examination techniques and digital diagnostics. Training will also cover operating mobile smart devices and utilizing latest examination protocols to ensure operational sustainability and maximize benefits from modern technological solutions.
Furthermore, cooperation with JICA supports training programs focused on quality assurance and continuous improvement practices within healthcare facilities aimed at enhancing operational efficiency while achieving high standards of quality and patient safety.
Dr. El-Sabki stressed that investing in health technology and building human capacities are essential pillars in establishing a smart and sustainable healthcare system. He reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships, transferring technology, and localizing digital health solutions aligned with Egypt’s goals for developing its health sector as part of Vision 2030.
It is noteworthy that during his tour in Minya, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, observed training activities related to the “Ensure” initiative with participation from Russian experts alongside quality enhancement programs involving Japanese experts under JICA’s project. This effort supports training systems aimed at improving both medical and administrative staff competencies while enhancing readiness across healthcare facilities involved in the Comprehensive Health Insurance System within Minya.
