Bursaid University President Highlights Culture as Key to International Unity

Dr. Sherif Youssef Saleh, the President of Port Said University, attended a grand cultural celebration held at the Egyptian Opera House to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Egypt and the People’s Republic of China. The event was organized by the Chinese Embassy in Cairo and featured the Chinese Ambassador to Egypt along with several public figures and diplomats.

The celebration included a distinguished musical performance by the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Egyptian maestro Ahmed El-Saidi, featuring a collaboration of both Egyptian and Chinese musicians. The orchestra performed a selection of global, Chinese, and Egyptian compositions that reflected the deep cultural exchange between the two nations.

Expressing his delight at participating in this significant cultural occasion, Dr. Saleh emphasized that the event elegantly showcased the historical ties between Egypt and China, which have flourished over decades of cooperation and mutual understanding across various fields.

He noted that Egyptian-Chinese relations continue to evolve across all fronts, particularly in higher education, scientific research, and academic exchanges. This development underscores both countries’ commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership and achieving shared interests.

Dr. Saleh commended the high artistic quality of the event that blended Chinese and Egyptian musical creativity into a unique artistic expression symbolizing friendship and collaboration between their peoples. He reiterated that culture and arts are among the most vital tools for fostering connections between nations.

The cultural and artistic collaboration we witness today embodies the profound civilizational ties between our countries and affirms that culture and arts remain a universal language capable of enhancing closeness among peoples while reinforcing values of peace and cooperation.
