Weather Agency Warns of Three Major Weather Phenomena Affecting Greater Cairo and Other Regions Today
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has announced significant weather phenomena expected to impact the weather across the country today, Thursday, June 4, 2026.
In a post on its official Facebook page, the authority indicated that extremely hot weather is anticipated during the day in most regions, with hot conditions along the northern coasts. At night, temperatures are expected to be moderate to slightly warm across many areas.
The agency highlighted that today’s weather phenomena will include morning fog on some roads leading to and from northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt.
Additionally, there is a chance of light rain in parts of the northwestern coastal areas and the western desert, which may occasionally be moderate and accompanied by thunderstorms in some regions of New Valley Governorate, with an estimated probability of occurrence around 20%.
Winds are expected to be active in most areas, potentially stirring up dust and sand in parts of the Red Sea Governorate at intermittent intervals.
The Mediterranean Sea will have light to moderate conditions with wave heights ranging from 1.25 to 1.75 meters and winds blowing from the northeast. Meanwhile, the Red Sea will experience moderate to rough conditions with wave heights between 1.5 and 2.5 meters and winds blowing from the northwest.
