The General Authority for Meteorology has announced significant weather phenomena expected to heavily impact conditions across the country today, Friday, June 19, 2026.
On its official Facebook page, the authority indicated that a moderate and humid morning is anticipated, with hot and humid conditions prevailing during the day in northern regions up to Greater Cairo, while southern areas will experience extreme heat.
One of the key phenomena affecting today’s weather includes fog from 4 AM to 8 AM across regions from northern Egypt to Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt, which may be dense at times on certain roads.
Additionally, the authority revealed that winds will occasionally reach speeds of 30 to 40 km/h in areas of the northwestern coasts, the Nile Delta, Greater Cairo, and South Sinai.
It also warned that these winds could stir up dust and sand in exposed areas of southern Egypt and along the Red Sea coast intermittently. There is a very low chance (approximately 20%) of light rain in some regions of the northern coastal provinces and northern Nile Delta at times.
