Port Said University Celebrates Successful Academic Partnership with Italian Institutions

Dr. Sherif Youssef Saleh, President of Port Said University, participated in a celebration hosted by the Embassy of Italy in Cairo to mark Italy’s National Day and the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic, celebrated on June 2 each year. The event was attended by Ambassador Agostino Pallezi, along with several ministers, senior officials, diplomats, and representatives from economic and cultural institutions.

During his participation in the celebration, Dr. Saleh expressed pride in the evolving Egyptian-Italian relations, particularly in higher education and scientific research. He emphasized that academic cooperation between educational institutions in both countries serves as a leading model for scientific partnership based on knowledge exchange and innovation enhancement.

Dr. Saleh expressed his happiness at witnessing the growing development in Egyptian-Italian relations, especially in higher education and scientific research. He stated that international academic collaboration is one of the most vital tools for building knowledge and enhancing human capacities.

Italian National Day Celebration

Over the past few years, Port Said University has sought to expand its collaboration with various Italian universities and institutions through partnership agreements, scientific exchanges, and joint academic visits. These efforts aim to enhance the educational and research systems and achieve sustainable development goals.

The president added that the fruitful cooperation between Egypt and Italy reflects the mutual desire of both friendly nations to build effective strategic partnerships that serve their peoples’ interests while supporting scientific, economic, and cultural advancement.

In concluding his remarks, Dr. Sherif Youssef Saleh extended heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of Italy on their National Day. He expressed appreciation to the Italian ambassador for the kind invitation and affirmed Port Said University’s eagerness for further scientific and academic collaboration as well as knowledge exchange with Italian universities and research institutions, thereby enhancing the status of higher education and scientific research while supporting mutual development paths between the two countries.
