Higher Education Minister Emphasizes Strengthening Partnership with France in Research and Innovation
The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Paris hosted a comprehensive meeting that brought together the Minister of Higher Education with several heads and representatives of French universities and research institutions, along with representatives from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Notable attendees included Dr. Ahmed Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, Dr. Walaa Sheta, Executive Director of the Science, Technology and Innovation Funding Authority (STDF), and Dr. Shahinda Ezzat, Cultural Counselor and Director of the Egyptian Cultural Office in Paris.
The meeting featured a thorough review of the progress made in academic and scientific cooperation projects between Egypt and France. Representatives from French universities presented their existing partnerships with Egyptian institutions, highlighting achievements in higher education, scientific research, innovation, and academic mobility over recent years.
Participants noted that many joint cooperation programs have reached advanced stages of implementation, including collaborative degree programs, academic exchange initiatives, and research projects. They praised the dynamic nature of university relations between the two countries in recent years.
French university representatives shared their future plans to expand collaboration with Egyptian partners, emphasizing their commitment to further developing joint programs and strengthening academic and scientific ties with Egyptian higher education institutions.
Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansoua expressed his deep appreciation for the accomplishments achieved within the framework of Egyptian-French cooperation. He stated that the ministry aims to build upon these successes and broaden partnership horizons to include new areas aligned with future demands while supporting development and innovation priorities.
The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry of Higher Education’s commitment to continuing collaboration with French academic and research institutions while enhancing opportunities for scientific exchange between both sides. This effort aims to improve the quality of higher education and support scientific research and innovation systems.
Dr. Qansoua noted that this visit was his first to Paris since assuming office, allowing him to closely observe the efforts being made and the progress achieved in Egyptian-French partnerships. He expressed admiration for the tangible results reflecting the strength of relationships between higher education institutions in both countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reiterated their commitment to continue collaborative efforts and build on past achievements to enhance academic and scientific cooperation between Egypt and France while opening new avenues for partnership in higher education, scientific research, and innovation.
