Written byNoha El Shafie

Dr. Sherif Youssef Saleh, President of Port Said University, participated in the inauguration ceremony of the new floating bridge (Kobri Al-Nasr 2), held under the auspices and in the presence of Admiral Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority. The event was also attended by Major General Ibrahim Abu Lemon and several executive, popular, and security leaders from Port Said Governorate.

The opening of Kobri Al-Nasr 2 aligns with Egypt’s ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure projects and improve connectivity between the banks of the Suez Canal. This initiative aims to facilitate transportation for residents of canal cities while fostering economic and social development in the region.

Following his participation in the inauguration, Dr. Saleh expressed his profound happiness at this significant national event. He emphasized that the opening of this bridge represents a new addition to Egypt’s impressive achievements under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s leadership. He praised the pioneering role played by the Suez Canal Authority in supporting comprehensive development plans and serving local communities.

Dr. Saleh noted that Kobri Al-Nasr 2 serves as a vital artery reflecting Egypt’s unprecedented developmental leap across various sectors. He highlighted that major national projects in the canal region—such as giant tunnels and modern bridges—embody the state’s vision for sustainable development, facilitating citizen mobility and bolstering investment opportunities.

He further commended the Suez Canal Authority for exemplifying a commendable national model by balancing its economic and strategic roles with its community service efforts towards residents of canal cities. Dr. Saleh extended his congratulations to Port Said citizens and those from neighboring canal regions on this new achievement, which marks an important step towards a more advanced and prosperous future within Egypt’s new republic.
