Written byNoha El Shafie

The third edition of the International Forum and Exhibition for Smart and Green Agriculture, AGRITECH Egypt 2026, will kick off tomorrow with significant participation from leading agricultural experts, international organizations, and global companies specializing in agricultural technology.

Under the auspices of the Ministries of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Water Resources and Irrigation, Local Development, Environment, Planning and Economic Development, and the Agricultural Syndicate, the event aims to support Egypt’s efforts to enhance its agricultural sector while promoting sustainability and food security.

AGRITECH Egypt 2026 seeks to highlight the latest innovations and technological solutions that improve agricultural production efficiency and optimize natural resource usage. It also aims to foster collaboration and investment opportunities among various stakeholders in the agricultural sector.

Dr. Ali Shams El Din, President of AGRITECH, stated that the forum supports the government’s direction towards employing digital transformation applications, artificial intelligence, remote sensing, and geographic information systems in managing agricultural resources. This approach is expected to boost productivity per feddan while improving crop quality and conserving water consumption.

He emphasized that digital agriculture, smart applications, advanced technologies, and modern agricultural trends are crucial tools for Egypt to achieve sustainable development and enhance food security amid increasing challenges related to water scarcity, climate change, and population growth.

Dr. Shams El Din added that the forum is a key supporter of digital initiatives aimed at transferring modern technology to farmers through guidance and training activities directed at hundreds of thousands of farmers and agricultural engineers. This effort is intended to promote modern agricultural practices and enhance human resource efficiency in the sector.

Dr. Sayed Khalifa, head of the Agricultural Syndicate, noted that smart agriculture aids decision-making by providing farmers with accurate data on planting schedules, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control. He also highlighted the expansion of modern irrigation systems that help maximize every drop of water used.

Khalifa pointed out that digital transformation and the expansion of smart agriculture applications alongside renewable energy usage are now essential tools for maximizing natural resource utilization while increasing agricultural production. This aligns with national efforts to achieve food security, elevate agricultural export rates, and enhance the sector’s contribution to the national economy within Egypt’s vision for sustainable development.

The forum is set to showcase the latest technologies in smart agriculture, modern irrigation systems for water conservation, advanced seed solutions and fertilization techniques, plant protection technologies, livestock production methods, as well as applications of new and renewable energy in agricultural activities.

Additionally, the event will provide a comprehensive platform for direct communication between companies, agricultural institutions, investors, and decision-makers to foster strategic partnerships that support sustainable agriculture’s future in Egypt and the Arab region.

A number of regional and international organizations involved in agricultural development will participate in this event including the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development affiliated with the Arab League; the Arab Center for Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD); the General Union for Producers & Exporters of Horticultural Products; along with Agricultural Research Center among other institutions relevant to the sector.
