Alamein Airport Welcomes First Flight from Bahrain’s National Carrier

Alamein Airport has welcomed its inaugural flight from Bahrain’s national carrier, Gulf Air, carrying 118 passengers. This marks the launch of a new air route that enhances connectivity with Gulf markets and supports travel growth.

The arrival of new destinations at Alamein International Airport reflects its growing significance on the aviation and tourism map, especially with the onset of the summer season in 2026.

By joining the network of airlines operating through Alamein International Airport, Gulf Air demonstrates increasing confidence in Egypt as a tourist destination. The airport has been witnessing continuous growth in its international flight network, contributing to an uptick in air traffic and tourism during the summer season.

To celebrate the first flight’s arrival, the public relations team at Egypt Airports Company organized a special welcome for the aircraft and passengers. The plane was greeted with a traditional water salute, while passengers received warm welcomes along with flowers, showcasing the hospitality that characterizes Egypt’s airports.

Simultaneously, operational teams at the airport ensured smooth and efficient arrival procedures, reflecting the airport’s readiness and operational efficiency in managing increasing air traffic according to high standards of quality and service.

Gulf Air plans to continue operating regular flights to Alamein International Airport with two flights per week until the end of September 2026. This initiative will further expand the airport’s air connectivity and enhance incoming tourism.
