United Nations.
The United Nations World Tourism Organization reported in June 2026 that Egypt experienced a 16% increase in tourist arrivals during the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, making it the leading destination in the Middle East and North Africa.
The report highlighted that this growth occurred despite a 14% decline in tourist arrivals across the Middle East during the same quarter, which was influenced by regional conflicts. Additionally, Egypt’s tourism revenues rose by 8% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the previous year.
