Egypt’s Social Solidarity Minister Discusses Collaboration with Bahrain in Social Affairs

Dr. Maya Morsi, Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity, held a virtual meeting with Osama bin Saleh Al-Alawi, the Minister of Social Development in Bahrain. The meeting was attended by Dina Al-Sayarfi, Assistant Minister for International Cooperation and Relations, and Amira Taj El-Din, Director General of the General Administration for International Relations and Agreements.

The ministers began the meeting by exchanging greetings on the occasion of the new Hijri year, wishing that it brings goodness and blessings to both the Arab and Islamic nations.

The discussion focused on enhancing cooperation between the two ministries under a memorandum of understanding signed in the field of social affairs.

Minister Morsi emphasized the deep ties between the two brotherly countries and praised the ongoing collaboration with her Bahraini counterpart, both bilaterally and within the framework of the Arab League. She indicated that future efforts would further strengthen cooperation based on the memorandum signed between their ministries.

The memorandum encompasses several key areas reflecting priorities for both ministries, including social care, issues related to persons with disabilities, productive families, childhood, elderly care, social safety nets, financial inclusion for vulnerable groups, community organizations, and volunteer work.

Osama bin Saleh Al-Alawi commended the continuous coordination with Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity and expressed optimism about leveraging the memorandum to exchange expertise in their joint fields of work.

The meeting concluded with both ministers reaffirming their commitment to swiftly enhance collaboration under the memorandum and to hold regular meetings between representatives from both ministries in their respective areas of expertise to maximize benefits for citizens in both nations.
