Declan Rice Named Arsenal’s Player of the Season for Second Consecutive Year
Arsenal Football Club has officially announced that midfielder Declan Rice has been awarded the club’s Player of the Season for the 2024-2025 campaign, marking his second consecutive win. Rice secured 44% of the total votes cast by fans.
The announcement was made in the early hours of June 20, Beijing time, with the club confirming through its official channels that Rice continued to shine for the Gunners during a season that saw them clinch the Premier League title after a 22-year absence and reach the UEFA Champions League final for only the second time in their history.
Spanish goalkeeper David Raya finished second in the voting, while Brazilian defender Gabriel took third place in a competitive lineup featuring several standout players from the squad.
With this accolade, Declan Rice becomes the sixth player in Arsenal’s history to win the Player of the Season award in consecutive years, joining club legends such as Liam Brady, Ian Wright, Thierry Henry, as well as current stars Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard.
Rice has been a key figure in Arsenal’s midfield, excelling in both defensive roles and playmaking from deep. His significant impact on set pieces has also been crucial to the team’s success this season.
Statistically, Rice enjoyed an impressive season, scoring five goals and providing nine assists across all competitions. He led his teammates with 96 chances created and regained possession 239 times, alongside achieving 91 successful tackles.
Additionally, he was among the most utilized players in attack, featuring in 55 matches for a total of 4,456 minutes on the pitch, solidifying his status as one of the team’s most influential players during this historic season for the London club.
