Sisi Engages in Intensive Diplomacy at G7 Summit Over Two Days

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has embarked on a meticulously scheduled two-day diplomatic mission at the 2026 G7 Summit, where he is set to address key issues such as international partnerships, regional security, and the future of advanced technology, as outlined by official statements from the presidency.

The first day commenced with a warm official welcome from French President Emmanuel Macron. The agenda featured Egypt’s significant participation in a high-level working lunch aptly titled “Addressing Crises and Ensuring Stability in the Middle East,” where Egypt presented its vision for regional de-escalation.

Following a group photo with fellow leaders at the summit, President Sisi held an important bilateral meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations and consult on recent regional developments. He concluded the first day by attending an official dinner hosted by President Macron in honor of the summit leaders.

The second day of the summit promises an increase in meetings; President Sisi is expected to have a much-anticipated bilateral meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, followed by another official meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to coordinate positions between emerging powers and major countries.

On matters concerning future technologies, President Sisi will participate in a key working session titled “Ensuring Safe, Rapid, and Effective Deployment of Artificial Intelligence.” This involvement will be complemented by extensive discussions with G7 leaders and heads of major global companies operating in AI, focusing on opportunities for localization and technological security in the region.

This intensive agenda reflects Egypt’s significant role in international forums and showcases the effectiveness of Egyptian diplomacy in balancing and actively engaging across various political and economic fronts.
