Weather Alert: Fog and Dusty Winds Expected in Several Regions on Tuesday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has announced the weather forecast and atmospheric conditions for Tuesday, June 16, 2026, across the country.

According to the authority, dense fog is expected in the morning on several roads leading to and from northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, Central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt. Some areas may experience particularly thick fog.

Additionally, there will be intermittent gusts of wind in Greater Cairo, South Sinai, the Red Sea Governorate, and northern Upper Egypt. Dust and sandstorms from the Sudanese border are anticipated to affect visibility in areas around Halayeb and Shalateen.

The forecast indicates that temperatures will be hot and humid during the day in northern regions up to Greater Cairo, while southern areas will experience extreme heat. Nighttime temperatures will be moderate and humid across most regions but slightly warmer in southern Upper Egypt.

The Mediterranean Sea is expected to have mild to moderate conditions with wave heights ranging from 1 to 1.75 meters and winds blowing from the northeast. In contrast, the Red Sea may experience moderate to rough conditions with wave heights between 1.5 meters and 2.5 meters, with winds coming from the northwest.

Conditions in the Gulf of Suez are predicted to be moderate to rough as well, with wave heights ranging from 2 meters to 2.5 meters and northwesterly winds.
