Egypt’s Foreign Minister Meets CEO of Kobilozos Group in Brussels

Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with Ioannis Karydas, the CEO of Kobilozos Group, on Sunday, June 14, at the start of his visit to Brussels. The meeting focused on the implementation of the electricity interconnection project between Egypt and Greece.

Abdel Aty emphasized Egypt’s commitment to the GREGY project, which aims to transport clean electricity from Egypt to Greece and subsequently to European countries for the first time. He noted that this initiative will enhance energy security in Europe and reflects the strong strategic partnership between Egypt and Greece. He also mentioned ongoing coordination with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, reaffirming Egypt’s full support for the project.

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister received updates from Karydas regarding the latest financing and implementation developments related to the project. He expressed hopes for Kobilozos Group to expand its activities in various sectors within the Egyptian market beyond just the electricity interconnection project, particularly in energy, gas, and airport development.

Additionally, Abdel Aty highlighted the investment incentives and advantages offered by the Egyptian government as part of its strategy to attract foreign investments. He expressed hope that Kobilozos Group would establish an office in Egypt to facilitate further cooperation.
