Egypt Increases Oil Production by 12,000 Barrels Daily
Oil Production.
In line with the strategy of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to enhance local oil and gas production, Egypt’s petroleum sector has successfully added nearly 12,000 barrels per day of crude oil and condensates from the Western Desert in the past two weeks. This includes over 10,000 barrels daily from Khalda Petroleum Company and approximately 1,500 barrels daily from the General Petroleum Company in the Abu Senan area.
Khalda Petroleum, a joint venture between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation and Apache Corporation, achieved a significant production increase by adding more than 10,000 barrels per day of crude oil and condensates within just two weeks. The company’s output rose from 113,300 barrels per day on May 26, 2026, to about 123,500 barrels per day on June 8, 2026.
Additionally, to maximize production from state-owned assets, the General Petroleum Company has achieved its highest production rates since October 2024. Its total output now stands at approximately 74,500 equivalent barrels per day, with around 61,000 barrels coming from crude oil. This reflects the success of intensive development programs aimed at improving field operational efficiency and accelerating production increase plans.
