This initiative aligns with the directives of the Ministry of Health and Population aimed at enhancing the quality of health services and expanding their availability to all citizens.

The head of the sector noted that a total of 30,317 medical interventions were provided in March, with services extended to 3,148 patients during evening hours. Additionally, there were 5,013 cases of preventive treatment for early-stage cavities to maintain dental structure and functionality, along with 4,725 root canal treatments utilizing the latest available techniques.

Furthermore, efforts included treating 2,128 cases of gum diseases to support the health of supporting tissues around teeth. A total of 17,050 tooth extractions—both routine and surgical—were performed for cases requiring surgical intervention.

In terms of advanced specialized services, orthodontic treatments were provided for 543 cases to improve occlusion and aesthetic appearance. Nineteen surgeries were conducted under general anesthesia, including twelve for children, as well as seven dental implant procedures using cutting-edge therapeutic techniques.

Emphasizing that prevention is fundamental to sustaining public health, the General Administration of Dentistry organized several educational seminars to raise community awareness about oral health care. Concurrently, specialized training workshops were held to enhance the skills and competencies of medical staff, fostering a culture of continuous development and institutional excellence within health facilities.

The Cairo Health Directorate reaffirmed its commitment to supporting and developing dental services in line with the state’s vision for building an integrated healthcare system focused on quality and efficiency while prioritizing citizen health.
