Traffic Diversions Implemented for Monorail Project on July 26 Street in Giza
The General Traffic Department of Giza is implementing necessary traffic services to manage expected congestion and facilitate the flow of traffic as work continues on the monorail project along July 26 Street, from the 15 May Bridge to Lebanon Square.
As part of the construction efforts, a complete closure of July 26 Street will occur in the direction from 15 May Bridge towards Lebanon Square for three days each week (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), starting from June 12, 2026, until July 12, 2026. The work will take place between 12:30 AM and 5:00 AM.
For traffic diversions, alternative routes have been designated as follows:.
- Vehicles coming from the 15 May Bridge intending to proceed towards Lebanon Square should turn right onto Salah Jahin Street, then left onto Dr. Hegazi Street, followed by another left towards Wadi El Nile Street, reaching July 26 Street after passing the construction area.
- Additionally, those coming from the 15 May Bridge can turn right onto Salah Jahin Street, then right onto Ahmed Orabi Street, followed by a right onto University of Nations Street, leading to Sudan Street and Lebanon Square after bypassing the construction site.
The General Traffic Department of Giza will deploy traffic services and coordinate with the executing companies to provide technical assistance and guidance signs indicating ongoing work in the area. This aims to ensure the safety of citizens and maintain optimal traffic flow.
