Foreign Minister Emphasizes Comprehensive Vision for Women’s Development Organization

Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Egypt’s Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met today with Ms. Sara El-Shoury, the Executive Director of the Women Development Organization under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Abdel-Aty congratulated Ms. El-Shoury on her new position, expressing his commitment to providing support and assistance during her upcoming tenure to help achieve the organization’s goals. He emphasized the ongoing importance of supporting and enhancing the organization’s work, reflecting his belief in its vital role in improving women’s status in the Islamic world.
The Foreign Minister expressed a desire to collaborate with the organization to promote successful and pioneering experiences in enhancing women’s rights and conditions, as well as improving the organization’s performance through sharing expertise and best practices among member states.
Minister Abdel-Aty underscored the importance of developing a comprehensive vision to advance the organization’s performance and agenda in the coming period, aiming for a qualitative leap in its activities and programs, which would encourage new members to join.
He also highlighted the significance of diversifying partnerships and cooperation with regional, international, and UN organizations, particularly with UN Women, to support efforts aimed at empowering women and enhancing their participation across various areas of development.
