Over 2,160 Patients Receive Medical Services in Al-Zawahri Village
The Health Directorate of Sharqia Governorate has successfully conducted a comprehensive medical caravan at the Al-Zawahri unit in the city of Hihya, which lasted for two days.
This caravan featured 11 clinics covering 10 medical specialties, including internal medicine, general surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, dermatology and venereology, family planning, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, and dentistry. Notably, two clinics were dedicated to pediatrics to serve the local residents and surrounding areas. Laboratory tests and early screenings for diabetes and hypertension were also conducted.
This initiative is part of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s “Decent Life” campaign and is in line with directives from Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, as well as Engineer Hazem El-Ashmouni, Governor of Sharqia. Dr. Ahmed El-Bayli, Undersecretary of the Health Directorate in Sharqia, emphasized the goal of providing exceptional medical services to citizens in remote areas.

Dr. Ahmed El-Bayli reported that during the two-day event, medical teams provided free consultations to 2,169 patients from the village. Necessary medications were dispensed, and eight cases requiring surgical operations were referred to hospitals under the directorate’s jurisdiction. Health awareness sessions were also held for residents on topics such as early detection of breast cancer and self-examination methods as well as maternal and fetal health support.
The Undersecretary expressed gratitude to Dr. Ahmed Abdel Hakim, Coordinator of Medical Caravans in Sharqia, along with the medical teams and all participants for their dedicated efforts in serving patients and community members attending the medical caravans in Sharqia Governorate.
