Following the inauguration of the new production line, Prime Minister Madbouly toured the factory to inspect both the new and existing production lines. He observed automated manufacturing and packaging processes that adhere to high-quality standards, along with innovative quality assurance systems that meet international benchmarks.

During this visit, Dr. Madbouly received a briefing from Menat Allah Sharkas, General Manager of “Lipton Teas and Infusions” in Egypt. She expressed her appreciation for the visit, highlighting it as a testament to the Egyptian government’s support for national industry and its commitment to enhancing the investment climate, particularly in the beverage sector. Sharkas noted that “Lipton” is focused on investing in innovation and research to offer a diverse range of products that meet consumer needs while adhering to global quality standards.

Sharkas also stated that “Lipton,” one of the most prestigious global tea brands with nearly a century-long presence in Egypt since its establishment in 1934, has operated its factory in New Borg El Arab since 1992. The facility has received several international accreditation certifications.

The Egyptian market is considered one of the company’s most strategic markets in the region due to its promising growth opportunities and continuous development within the beverage sector.

Sharkas outlined that the operational capacity of their Borg El Arab factory reaches 25 thousand tons annually, supported by an extensive distribution network that enhances product availability in local markets and supports future growth plans.

The factory specializes in packaging loose tea products and tea bags, producing well-known brands such as “Lipton Yellow Label” and “Brooke Bond.” It employs 273 specialized staff members and engineers.

Furthermore, she mentioned that “Lipton” aims to export approximately 25% of its local production to several regional markets, reinforcing Egypt’s position as a regional and global hub for supply chains related to “Lipton.” The first shipment of products from this factory is set to be exported to Australia this week.

Sharkas highlighted innovation as a key element for the company’s future direction. She announced new rapid-preparation tea products available in five flavors and introduced a new iced tea product for quick preparation launched earlier this month. This reflects Lipton’s commitment to excellence while continuously enhancing product quality tailored for local tastes.

The General Manager also discussed plans for expanding Lipton’s presence within Egypt while developing products that meet high-quality standards aligned with changing consumer needs. The company aims to solidify its position as a leading global tea brand by offering high-quality products made from premium raw materials sourced from top tea plantations worldwide.

Hassan Youssef, Factory Manager, added that their facility boasts reliability with an operational capacity of 95%, utilizing advanced digitization and automation technologies for operational management aimed at boosting productivity. Products are exported to several countries including Libya, Iraq, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Sudan, and Yemen. The goal is for Lipton’s Borg El Arab facility to become a major supply center through ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency and production volume.

In light of these developments, Prime Minister Madbouly took time to review new product lines entering both local and international markets which feature innovative designs catering to market needs.
