Prime Minister Announces Doubling of Coastal Road Capacity Between Port Said and Alexandria
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister of Egypt, announced the expansion plans for the coastal road that stretches from Port Said to Sallum, covering a distance of 800 kilometers. He highlighted significant upgrades along this route, particularly from Alexandria to Matrouh and currently from Matrouh to Sallum.
During a press conference today, Madbouly addressed concerns regarding traffic congestion between Port Said and Alexandria due to heavy vehicle movement. He stated, “We have reviewed plans to double the capacity of this road, which will include six lanes in each direction and a concrete section designated for heavy trucks to withstand the substantial traffic on this vital roadway. We are coordinating with the Ministry of Transport and relevant authorities to ensure effective implementation of these enhancements.”.
