Cairo University Launches Comprehensive Medical Caravan in Manshiyet Nasser

Cairo University has announced the launch of a comprehensive medical caravan to Manshiyet Nasser from June 6 to June 8, under the patronage of Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, President of the University, and supervision of Dr. Mohamed Refaat, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development. This initiative is in collaboration with the presidential initiative “100 Million Health,” alongside the National Cancer Institute and the faculties of Medicine at Kasr Al-Ainy and Dentistry.

This caravan aligns with Cairo University’s commitment to community service and its support for presidential initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable development goals. It aims to enhance the quality of healthcare services available to citizens by providing free medical examinations and treatment, as well as health awareness and education across various medical specialties. The services will be offered daily from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Manshiyet Nasser Youth Center.

On its first day, the caravan will focus on dental care, oncology, and pediatric oncology. The second day will feature services in dentistry, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, general internal medicine, pediatric oncology, oncology, dermatology, orthopedics, and ENT (ear, nose, throat). The final day will offer services in dentistry, pediatric oncology, oncology, surgical oncology, cardiology, neurology, and rheumatology.

Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek emphasized that Cairo University continues its national and community mission by supporting presidential initiatives and actively participating in development efforts aimed at improving citizens’ quality of life, particularly in underserved areas. He noted that this caravan exemplifies collaboration among various medical sectors within the university and contributes to providing specialized free healthcare services that alleviate burdens on citizens while supporting state efforts to enhance healthcare.

The caravan features a team of distinguished faculty members and specialized doctors from the National Cancer Institute as well as the faculties of Medicine at Kasr Al-Ainy and Dentistry. This reflects Cairo University’s significant scientific and medical resources dedicated to serving the community and making a direct developmental impact on citizens.

Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Moaty Samra, Dean of the National Cancer Institute, stated that the institute’s participation in this caravan extends its role in providing specialized healthcare services while raising awareness about the importance of early cancer detection. He added that medical teams from the institute will offer specialized services in oncology and pediatric oncology while conducting awareness activities regarding risk factors, prevention methods, and early diagnosis importance to improve recovery rates and treatment outcomes.

Dr. Hossam Salah, Dean of Kasr Al-Ainy School of Medicine and Chairman of University Hospitals Board of Directors, mentioned that the college is committed to utilizing its medical expertise for community service through ongoing participation in medical caravans organized by the university. He affirmed that this caravan embodies cooperation among various medical specialties within Cairo University to ensure comprehensive healthcare for citizens.

Additionally, Dr. Geraldine Mohamed Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, noted that her faculty will provide comprehensive dental services including examinations and treatments while referring cases requiring advanced interventions for continued care within specialized clinics affiliated with the faculty. She also highlighted their role in implementing health awareness programs concerning oral health disease prevention methods and emphasizing early detection’s significance regarding associated health issues since oral health is a fundamental aspect of overall health quality.
