Brighton in Advanced Talks to Secure AIK Winger Zadok Yohanna
Brighton & Hove Albion is reportedly in advanced negotiations to acquire the talented AIK Fotboll winger, Zadok Yohanna, this summer.
After finishing eighth in the Premier League during the 2025-26 season, the Seagulls are gearing up for their return to European football with participation in the Conference League.
Manager Fabian Hurzeler is expected to target a new center-back and midfielder due to Adam Webster’s impending departure following the expiration of his contract and James Milner’s recent retirement announcement.
In addition, Brighton aims to bolster their wing options following the exit of club legend Solly March. The 18-year-old Yohanna has quickly emerged as a prime target for the club.
AIK confirmed last weekend that they are in discussions with an undisclosed club regarding Yohanna’s transfer, which could command a fee around £20 million, potentially setting a record for the club.
If completed, this transfer would also make Yohanna the most expensive player ever sold by a Swedish team, surpassing Lucas Bergvall’s record sale of €20 million (£17.3 million) from Djurgardens IF to Tottenham Hotspur in 2024.

Brighton Optimistic About Finalizing Yohanna Transfer
According to Sky Sports News, Brighton is leading the race to sign Yohanna and remains hopeful that an agreement can be reached this week.
The Seagulls have intensified their pursuit of Yohanna after falling behind Hoffenheim in negotiations for Wolfsburg winger Patrick Wimmer.
The Nigerian talent has attracted significant interest from other Premier League clubs as well as teams in Spain and Germany. However, Brighton’s strong history of developing young players and providing them with first-team opportunities enhances their appeal amidst stiff competition.
Nigerian Star Yohanna Poised for Major Move After Impressive Season
If an agreement is finalized, Yohanna would become the sixth Nigerian player to join Brighton, following in the footsteps of Leon Balogun, Chuba Akpom, Ade Akinbiyi, Emeka Ifejiagwa, and David Adekola.
Since joining AIK a year ago, Yohanna has made a significant impact on the first team, scoring five goals and providing four assists in 18 appearances across all competitions, primarily playing as a right-winger.
It remains uncertain whether Brighton will loan out Yohanna or integrate him directly into Hurzeler’s first-team squad for the upcoming season. The Amex Stadium currently boasts several wide players including Kaoru Mitoma, Yankuba Minteh, Diego Gomez, Tom Watson, Ibrahim Osman, and Amario Cozier-Duberry—three of whom spent time on loan last season.
