Tottenham Hotspur Pursues Anderlecht’s Nathan De Cat Amid Competition
Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly intensifying its pursuit of Nathan De Cat, a promising midfielder from Anderlecht, who has emerged as one of Europe’s most coveted young talents.
Following a narrow escape from relegation on the last day of the 2025-26 Premier League season, Spurs are anticipated to undergo a significant squad overhaul under manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Enhancing their midfield ranks is a top priority for the club, with De Cat identified as a potential long-term fixture in that area.

De Cat enjoyed a breakout season with Anderlecht last year, establishing himself as one of Belgium’s brightest prospects. At just 17 years old, he has already earned a senior international cap and garnered praise for his composure on the ball, ability to win possession, and maturity beyond his years.
According to TeamTalk, Tottenham is among the clubs aggressively pursuing his signature and has initiated discussions with Anderlecht to assess the terms of a possible transfer.
The Spurs view De Cat as a future deep-lying playmaker; however, they face stiff competition from Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea.

Entering the final year of his contract, De Cat presents Anderlecht with a crucial decision in the coming months. The Belgian club must either negotiate an extension or consider selling him this summer to avoid losing one of their most valuable academy products for free in 2027.
Reports indicate that Anderlecht would entertain offers around £34.7 million, which would set a club record for a sale and reflect confidence in the young midfielder’s potential.
While German clubs have an impressive history of developing elite talent, Tottenham hopes that working under De Zerbi and having a clear pathway to first-team football will enhance their chances in this competitive race.
The Spurs are already active in the transfer market and are working towards securing a permanent deal for Joao Palhinha. However, landing De Cat would mark a significant investment in the club’s future.
