Arsenal Set to Make Bid for PSG’s World Cup Star Bradley Barcola

Written byFerdous Saeed

Arsenal is reportedly preparing to submit a bid for Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola this summer.

The Gunners recently ended a 22-year title drought by clinching the Premier League last month, though they fell short against PSG in the Champions League final, losing on penalties.

Head coach Mikel Arteta is focused on strengthening his squad and plans to collaborate closely with sporting director Andrea Berta to ensure Arsenal remains at the top of English football.

According to The Independent, Arteta’s ‘main priority’ is to enhance the attacking options, and Barcola has emerged as a ‘realistic’ target for the upcoming transfer window.

The report indicates that Arsenal is currently assessing the details necessary to make a formal offer for Barcola, who has also attracted interest from Liverpool.

Currently, PSG seems inclined to retain Barcola, who has two years left on his contract at Parc des Princes.

Barcola’s Future Uncertain Amid Arsenal Interest

Previously, it was reported that Luis Enrique’s side viewed Barcola as an ‘untouchable’ asset, casting doubt on Arsenal’s chances of acquiring the Frenchman.

However, it appears that the Ligue 1 champions are open to reconfiguring their attack, with interest in two players already linked with Arsenal: Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers.

Barcola has been with PSG for three years after transferring from Lyon in 2023. He has made 152 first-team appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 39 goals and providing 37 assists.

The versatile attacker concluded the 2025-26 season as PSG’s leading scorer in Ligue 1 with 11 goals. Additionally, he made headlines by scoring on his World Cup debut for France in their recent 3-1 group-stage victory over Senegal last weekend.

At just 23 years and 287 days old, Barcola became the youngest Frenchman to score on his World Cup debut since Thierry Henry did so at age 20 in June 1998.

If Arsenal intends to secure Barcola’s services this summer, they may need to offer more than £100 million, surpassing their club-record transfer fee of £105 million spent on Declan Rice in 2023.
