Egypt’s Foreign Minister Reiterates Support for Lebanon’s Sovereignty in Call with Prime Minister

Badr Abdel Aty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received a phone call from Dr. Nawaf Salam, Prime Minister of Lebanon, to discuss the current developments in the brotherly nation.
According to Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the call, Minister Abdel Aty reaffirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with Lebanon in facing its current challenges. He emphasized Egypt’s position calling for Israel’s complete withdrawal from all Lebanese territories, asserting that any infringement on Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity constitutes a blatant violation of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
The spokesperson added that Minister Abdel Aty highlighted the importance of supporting Lebanese state institutions, particularly the Lebanese Army, to enable them to fulfill their responsibilities in asserting authority and sovereignty over all national territory.
He stressed that ensuring the exclusivity of arms within the Lebanese state is a fundamental pillar for maintaining Lebanon’s security and stability while supporting the state’s choices and safeguarding the resources of the Lebanese people.
Minister Abdel Aty reiterated Egypt’s commitment to continue supporting Lebanon and its national institutions, based on the fraternal relations and close ties between the two nations, contributing to enhancing Lebanon’s security and stability.
