Iran Commends Egypt’s Role in Ending War Agreement

Through high-level communications, Egypt worked to bridge gaps during negotiations, overcoming challenges and encouraging the involved parties to reach an agreement to end the state of war.

In a phone conversation with Dr. Badr Abdel Atty, the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Araghchi emphasized Iran’s reliance on Egypt to continue playing a constructive role in supporting the agreement, ensuring its sustainability, and facilitating its implementation as a step towards achieving a final accord between the parties.

The discussion also covered elements of the agreement that ended the war between the United States and Iran, as well as efforts to conclude conflicts on all fronts, including Lebanon, which aims to respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

For his part, Minister Abdel Atty welcomed the agreement between the United States and Iran, expressing hope that it would lead to a genuine transformation in restoring security and stability in the region. He affirmed that Egypt would continue its diplomatic efforts to achieve de-escalation in the area.

The Foreign Minister further emphasized Egypt’s full support for Lebanon amid current challenges, highlighting the importance of Israel’s withdrawal from all Lebanese territories and reinforcing state institutions’ authority while ensuring that arms are held exclusively by the Lebanese state.
